There still is a Lombardi in the Browns’ organization.

Even though Mike Lombardi was fired as general manager this week, his youngest son, Matt, remains employed by the team.

Matt Lombardi was brought in by his father last year as an entry-level assistant in the Browns’ personnel department.

“Matt is well-liked by both our personnel staff and coaches,” said Browns spokesman Zak Gilbert. “He’s welcome to stay in his role but has not made that decision as of yet.”

Mike Lombardi was replaced by Ray Farmer as Browns GM.

Another Lombardi son, Mick, is a coaching assistant with the San Francisco 49ers.
